Course Overview
Our 8-week program focuses on enhancing your proficiency in the Olympic lifts: the Snatch and Clean & Jerk. You'll engage in structured training sessions that emphasize technique, strength, and conditioning to maximize your lifting potential.

 

What You'll Gain

  • Improved Technique: Each week includes detailed coaching on the fundamental movements of Olympic weightlifting, ensuring you master the lifts safely and effectively.

  • Strength Development: The program incorporates essential strength exercises such as squats, deadlifts, and overhead presses to build a solid foundation for your lifts.

  • Fun and Supportive Training Environment: The program gives you access to Sheffield Weightlifting Club's facilities during the course so you can train as a group and also as part of the wider club with our seasoned lifters.

Training Schedule

  • Frequency: Train three days a week (1 coached session + 2 self-led following the course program)

  • Lift Focus: Each training day will feature:

    • Barbell Snatch

    • Clean & Jerk

    • Core strength exercises

    • Supplemental Lifts: Additional work on squats and overhead presses will occur multiple times per week to enhance overall strength.
